Installing the Panopto Client

  • The Panopto Client application is installed on the computers of all major lecture halls and classrooms, but it's also available for you to install on your personal computer.
  • Panopto Client can only be installed if you are enrolled in a course in Blackboard Learn as an Instructor or Teaching Assistant. Regular users, such as students, will not see the download link.
  • Panopto Client is available for Mac and PC.
  • Go to the Downstate Panopto web site (https://sunydownstate.hosted.panopto.com)
  • Login using your Downstate NetID user name and password
  • Click the green Create button to the top-left of the Panopto window.

  • Select the Panopto for Mac or Panopto for Windows option.

  • Select the installer appropriate for your operating system.
