For research requiring truly anonymous responses, use the REDCap Public Survey Link and do not collect identifiers or enable features that capture identifying metadata.
Do not use the e-Consent Framework for anonymous surveys, because IP address capture is enabled on the Downstate REDCap instance for e-Consent.
If individual invitations, response tracking, reminders, designated email fields, participant identifiers, or authenticated access are required, investigators should describe the data as confidential rather than anonymous unless the IRB and REDCap administrators have specifically reviewed the workflow.
