How do I setup and use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection?

Overview

Remote access to the organizations network is available by connecting your device to Cisco's AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Service. Click on the appropriate link below for installation steps. Once installed, login with your userID and password. 

NOTE: You must be granted permission to use remote VPN software. Please complete the VPN Access Request Form

Check with your departmental technical support staff for assistance with setting up your computer so that it is configured correctly for remote access.

Issue

Installation steps

If you have Java installed on your computer you will be prompted to manually download and install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. To ensure proper installation of the AnyConnect client, please uninstall any earlier Cisco VPN clients, restart your computer and then install the new client.

Connection steps

  1. Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
  2. Verify that evpn2.sample.com is in the Connect to: field.
  3. Click Connect
  4. Login with your UserID and password and click OK.Disconnection steps
  5. Click on the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client icon (in the System Tray or Dock).

Disconnection steps

  1. Click on the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client icon (in the System Tray or Dock).
  2. Click Disconnect.
Troubleshooting

Be sure to uninstall earlier VPN version and reboot before installing Cisco AnyConnect client.

If you experience problems logging in after your VPN request has been approved, reset your userD password then try logging in to VPN again.
